Cabot, 53, and Byron, 51, were attending the band’s July 16 show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, alongside friends when the infamous “kiss cam” footage aired. In the clip, Byron — the CEO of tech firm Astronomer — had his arms wrapped around Cabot, the company’s chief people officer. Both appeared startled and attempted to step out of view, while Coldplay frontman Chris Martin quipped from the stage that the pair “might be having an affair.”

The footage spread like wildfire online, and both Cabot and Byron soon resigned from their roles. Astronomer later released a statement explaining the departures: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”

Cabot was married to Andrew Cabot, 61, CEO of a Boston-based rum distillery and scion of one of the city’s most prominent families. Reports have long suggested the family maintains a famously private profile, communicating “only with God” because of their social standing. Byron, meanwhile, is also reportedly married.

Cabot filed for divorce roughly a month after the Coldplay incident, though sources indicate the couple had already been separated prior to the show. Both Cabot and Andrew have children from previous marriages. Earlier this month, Andrew, through a spokeswoman, confirmed the separation and requested privacy. “Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued,” the statement read.

In recent weeks, a source close to Kristin has spoken out to correct what they called “misinformation” surrounding the concert incident.

“Kristin and Andy [Byron] had an excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair,” the source insisted. “It was inappropriate to be hugging your boss at a concert, and she accepts full responsibility for it. But the scandal, the downfall, the loss of the job — all of that is unfair.”

Regarding her husband, the source added: “Kristin and Andrew [Cabot] had been living apart, and one of the many misconceptions in the media is that he was in Japan and blindsided. In fact, he was at the Coldplay concert on a date.”

Neither Kristin Cabot nor Andy Byron has commented publicly about the events. Andrew’s spokeswoman declined to provide further comment for this story.

“These are real people and real families,” the source said. “The way people have taken a lot of enjoyment at their expense, it’s hard to see.”
