Noem called the NFL “weak,” adding, “They suck and we’ll win.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will “be all over” Super Bowl LX, where Bad Bunny is set to perform at halftime, according to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
In a new interview with The Benny Show’s host Benny Johnson, Noem, 53, confirmed that ICE agents will be stationed at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, during the NFL championship game next February.
The announcement follows the NFL’s decision to name the Puerto Rican superstar — who previously chose not to include the U.S. in his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour amid former President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement policies — as the headliner for the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
In a clip from The Benny Show podcast shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Oct. 3, Noem told Johnson that “there will be” ICE agents present at the Feb. 8 event, emphasizing that “the Department of Homeland Security is responsible for keeping it safe.”
“So I have the responsibility for making sure everybody who goes to the Super Bowl has the opportunity to enjoy it and to leave, and that’s what America is about,” she said. “So yeah, we’ll be all over that place,” Noem added.
The Homeland Security Secretary — a vocal Trump ally — also made it clear that immigration enforcement will be part of the operation. “We are going to enforce the law,” she said. “So I think people should not be coming to the Super Bowl unless they’re law-abiding Americans who love this country.”
When asked by Johnson if she had a message for the NFL, seemingly referencing its decision to feature Bad Bunny as the halftime performer, Noem didn’t hold back.
“Well, they suck and we’ll win, and God will bless us and we’ll stand and be proud of ourselves at the end of the day,” she said. “And they won’t be able to sleep at night, ‘cause they don’t know what they believe, and they’re so weak. We’ll fix it.”
Noem’s remarks come just two days after Corey Lewandowski — a senior adviser to Trump’s 2016 and 2024 presidential campaigns and a current supporter of the Department of Homeland Security — made similar comments on the same show.
During the Oct. 1 episode, Johnson asked Lewandowski whether “ICE will have enforcement at the Super Bowl for the Bad Bunny halftime show.” Lewandowski replied, “There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally.”
“Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” he continued. “We will find you and apprehend you and put you in a detention facility and deport you. So know that is a very real situation under this administration, which is contrary to how it used to be.”
