Ike Turner Jr., son of Tina Turner and Ike Turner, dies at 67
-
Ike Turner Jr. passed away on October 4, 2025, just one day after his 67th birthday.
-
His death occurred in a Los Angeles hospital.
-
The cause was kidney failure, after years of serious health issues including heart disease and a recent stroke.
He leaves behind his wife, Hilary Blackmore, daughter Lilly Lazare‑Greene, and son Tarlo Greene.
Born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr. was adopted by Tina Turner during her marriage to Ike. He grew up in the music industry and became a Grammy‑winning producer and sound engineer. In 2007, he won a Grammy for producing Risin’ With the Blues.
Ike Jr. previously worked as Tina Turner’s sound engineer, managed Bolic Sound Studios, and contributed quietly but meaningfully to the Turner musical legacy. His relationship with Tina later became strained; in a 2018 interview, he said they hadn’t spoken in years.
His passing follows that of several Turner family members: Craig Turner died in 2018, Ronnie Turner died in 2022, and Tina Turner passed away in 2023.
The news of Ike Jr.’s death has drawn tributes and reflections on his contributions behind the scenes, and the Turner family’s storied and often tragic legacy.
