Dr. Kelly Powers, a Fox News medical contributor and podiatric surgeon, died at age 45 on December 1, 2024, following a recurrence of glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Her public battle began in 2020, when she was diagnosed after experiencing a seizure.
Despite the severity of her illness, Powers underwent multiple treatments—three brain surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy—and entered remission for a time. During that period, she and her husband, Steven Doll, welcomed their son, Bennett, via surrogacy. The cancer returned in 2024, and her conventional treatments lost efficacy. Friends and supporters raised nearly $90,000 toward experimental treatment, and she had made plans to seek care in Germany.
Powers was also known for her media presence—regularly appearing on Fox & Friends, Red Eye, The Willis Report, and other programs—where she translated medical insight for broader audiences. Early in her medical career, she earned credentials from Baruch College, the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and the University of San Francisco, followed by residencies at Georgetown and Boston University. She also survived a heart failure episode during a live segment on Fox Business—discussing the subtle cues of heart disease—before her cancer diagnosis.
Her obituary remembered her as “a brave and beautiful soul” whose dedication to science, media, and family touched many. She is survived by her husband, son, parents, and in‑laws.
