Fox News anchor Bret Baier praised former President Donald Trump on “America’s Newsroom” for his role in brokering a breakthrough peace agreement between Israel and Hamas. Baier singled out Trump’s address to the Israeli Knesset, calling it “a really historic moment” and suggesting it will be one of Trump’s signature speeches. He noted how warmly Trump was received in Israel, where he is now being treated with “hero status.”
Trump himself expressed pride over the regional response to the agreement, saying celebrations in Israel and in Muslim-majority countries were unlike anything seen before. He said, “Everybody is cheering at one time. That’s never happened before,” as he described the landmark terms of the deal: the release of the last 20 Israeli hostages and the return of about 2,000 Palestinian detainees.
Under the peace framework, Hamas is to disarm, Israel will halt military operations, and governance in Gaza will transition to a new entity overseen by an international “Board of Peace,” co‑chaired by Trump and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The plan also emphasizes economic revitalization and access to humanitarian aid via neutral organizations.
