Philadelphia police have confirmed that the remains found on October 18, 2025, behind the abandoned Ada H. Lewis Middle School in East Germantown belong to 23-year-old Kada Scott, who had been missing since October 4. DNA testing verified her identity. Scott was last seen leaving her overnight shift at an assisted living facility in Chestnut Hill. Her remains were discovered in a shallow grave following an anonymous tip. Investigators had previously searched the area but did not locate her at that time
Keon King, 21, of Dover, Delaware, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, stalking, arson, and tampering with evidence in connection with Scott’s disappearance. Authorities allege that King kidnapped Scott, transported her remains in a stolen 2008 Hyundai Accent, and attempted to destroy evidence by setting the car on fire. Surveillance footage and cellphone data place King at the scene where Scott’s remains and the burnt vehicle were found. King had previously faced kidnapping and strangulation charges earlier this year, but those charges were dropped when the victim did not appear in court. The current investigation continues as authorities gather more evidence
The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has indicated that homicide charges are forthcoming, pending confirmation of Scott’s cause of death. Investigators are also examining other potential victims linked to King, as additional individuals have come forward. The community has expressed deep sorrow over Scott’s death. Her family described her as a kind and spirited young woman who worked in an assisted living facility. They have requested privacy during this difficult time while expressing gratitude for the support from the public and law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities continue to seek information that may assist in bringing justice to Scott and her family.
