Terry Bradshaw, the celebrated NFL Hall of Famer and broadcaster, recently disclosed that he battled two distinct cancers over the past year—first Bladder cancer, diagnosed in November 2021, and then Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive skin cancer, discovered in March during treatment for neck issues.
Bradshaw revealed the news during a broadcast of “Fox NFL Sunday,” explaining that he underwent surgery and treatment for both cancers, and he confirmed that he is now cancer‑free. He said, “Folks, I may not look like my old self, but I feel like my old self. I’m cancer free, I’m feeling great.”
Reflecting on his journey, Bradshaw attributed his survival in part to his strong Christian faith and the unwavering support of his wife, Tammy Bradshaw. He admitted that he kept the diagnoses private for a time because he “didn’t want pity.”
His openness about the health challenges has drawn widespread support from fans, colleagues, and fellow athletes. Many praised his transparency, noting that his status as a public figure and enduring athlete gives hope to others facing similar battles.
Looking ahead, Bradshaw says he is focusing on recovery, spending time with family, and continuing his broadcasting career. His journey serves not only as a testament to resilience but as a reminder of the importance of early detection, treatment, and the mental health aspects tied to serious illness.
