The U.S. Senate confirmed President Donald Trump’s nominee, Anne-Leigh Gaylord Moe, to serve as a U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Florida by a vote of 53-46 on October 21, 2025.
Moe was previously a judge on Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal, and before that served nearly a decade as a circuit judge in Hillsborough County.
Trump issued a statement praising Moe’s confirmation, calling her “a fierce advocate for the Sunshine State” who would “prioritize LAW AND ORDER unlike other activist judges.” The appointment adds to the president’s ongoing effort to fill lifetime federal bench vacancies with loyalists.
Her confirmation comes during a period of intensified judicial action by the administration, underscoring how evolving court appointments remain a critical component of the broader political and legal landscape.
