Law enforcement dispatch audio reviewed by PEOPLE described a person of interest in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk as being dressed entirely in black and equipped with tactical gear.
The transmissions indicated the individual was carrying a black long gun and outfitted with a black tactical helmet, a black mask, and possibly a tactical vest paired with jeans. Additional descriptions mentioned aviator-style glasses, a black bag, long pants, and longer hair.
Kirk was struck during a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. A university spokesperson confirmed that the round was fired from the school’s Losee Center, located approximately 200 yards from where Kirk was speaking, about 20 minutes after his remarks began.
