A Florida mother is facing attempted murder charges after authorities say she tried to drown herself along with her three young children, moments after recording what she described as a final farewell on Instagram.
Shaniece Willingham, 24, was rescued alongside her children — ages 3, 2, and 8 months — during the early morning hours of Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Valrico, Fla., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said family members intervened just in time, pulling the children from a community pool and preventing what could have been a quadruple tragedy.
Authorities responded to the scene around 1:28 a.m., finding Willingham on the pool deck while her children had already been carried to a nearby home for safety. The incident followed a volatile series of arguments earlier that night, according to court filings.
