Inside the tough and challenging life of Pattie Mallette

Pattie Mallette, best known as Justin Bieber’s mother, has a powerful story of resilience. Born in 1975 in Stratford, Ontario, her early life was filled with trauma, including the tragic death of her sister and years of abuse. By age 14, she struggled with substance use and mental health issues, eventually attempting suicide at 17.

After finding faith, she reconnected with Jeremy Bieber and soon became pregnant. As a single teen mom, she raised Justin in low-income housing, supporting his musical dreams. Pattie helped launch his career by posting videos of his performances online.

Despite their rocky relationship, especially during Justin’s legal troubles in 2014, they’ve since reconciled. Pattie’s 2012 memoir Nowhere But Up details her journey through hardship to hope. Today, she’s proud of her son’s growth and faith. Her life story is one of pain, perseverance, and a mother’s unwavering love and belief in a brighter future.
